Health & Safety Policy


Six Degrees is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our members, employees, volunteers, and visitors. This Health and Safety Policy outlines our approach to managing health and safety risks associated with our in-person and online events and activities.


This policy applies to all members, employees, volunteers, and any other individuals involved with Six Degrees and covers all aspects of our activities, including membership, events, services, and communications, both in-person and online.

Our Commitment

We are committed to:

    • Ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of everyone involved in our activities
    • Identifying and managing potential health and safety risks associated with our events and services
    • Providing appropriate training, guidance, and support to our members, employees, and volunteers to promote health and safety awareness
    • Complying with all relevant health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines



Everyone involved with Six Degrees has a responsibility to contribute to a safe and healthy environment. Specifically:

  • Members, employees, and volunteers are expected to take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others, and to cooperate with our health and safety measures
  • Six Degrees management and leadership are responsible for implementing, monitoring, and reviewing this policy, and for providing appropriate resources to manage health and safety risks
  • Anyone who witnesses or becomes aware of a health or safety concern should report it to the CEO, Sarah Jepson.

Risk Assessments

We will carry out regular risk assessments for our in-person events and activities to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures to minimise risks. These assessments will be reviewed and updated as needed, or in response to any changes in our operations or legal requirements.

Online Safety

For our online events and activities, we will take reasonable steps to ensure the safety and well-being of our members and participants, including:

  • Providing guidance on the responsible use of online platforms and tools
  • Implementing appropriate privacy settings and access controls for our online events and community portal
  • Encouraging members to report any online safety concerns or incidents to [Your Organization’s designated contact person or reporting procedure]

Training and Support

We will provide appropriate training and guidance to our employees, volunteers, and members to ensure they understand their health and safety responsibilities and are able to contribute to a safe and healthy environment.

Emergency Procedures

We will establish and communicate clear emergency procedures for our in-person events and activities, including evacuations, first aid, and incident reporting.

Monitoring and Review

This policy will be reviewed regularly to ensure its continued effectiveness and compliance with relevant health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines. We will monitor our activities and services to identify any areas for improvement and take action as needed.
